In South Carolina, there are 12 Workforce Development Area Boards with representatives appointed from all 46 counties.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Get Appointed<\/strong><br \/>\nMembers of the Board are appointed by the chief elected officials of their respective county in accordance with criteria established by the Governor. WDB membership includes representatives from business and industry, education agencies, community-based organizations, economic development agencies, public employment service, public assistance agencies, vocational rehabilitation, and labor organizations.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like more information about joining the board, contact WorkLink at (864) 646-1515, Relay Service Dial 711 (TTY).<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Board\u2019s Function <\/strong><br \/>\nThe Board\u2019s main function is to serve as a point of contact for business, industry, and labor to communicate their workforce needs.
