Majoring in Industrial Maintenance

Hello Eckerd Connects/Palmetto Youth Connections (PYC),

My name is Marquee H. I have a very supportive mom that I am able to help financially thanks to your organization. Because of your Anderson County WIOA program, I was able to obtain my GED and find employment. I entered college in January 2021 and am majoring in Industrial Maintenance. With continued hard work, I plan to graduate in two years.

After dropping out of high school, due to medial issues, I wasn’t sure about my future. There were so many options from which to choose. So I decided to start with earning my GED and ended up in the Eckerd Connects/Palmetto Youth Connections (PYC) WIOA program in Anderson, SC. They helped me figure out my career pathway, set a goal for me, and supported me throughout my time in the program. I’m proud to be the first one in my family to go to college. I just wanted to give a huge thanks to the Eckerd Connects/Palmetto Youth Connections (PYC) WIOA program. Thank you for being a part of the direction my life is taking as I move forward with my education and employment goals.

Eckerd Connects/Palmetto Youth Connections (PYC) not only helped me with accomplishing getting my GED and enrolling in college, they also provided me with a temporary work experience at a local nonprofit to help me gain professional work experience. Thank you, Eckerd Connects/Palmetto Youth Connections (PYC) staff, for believing in me every step of the way. Your support was a valuable part of my journey.

Sincerely, Marquee
