Updates from Keith J Keller Jr, Interim Executive Director – Board of Visitors Breakfast at Anderson College

The crisp early fall weather and Anderson College’s growing, bucolic campus provided the perfect backdrop this morning for an engaging presentation by our guest speaker, Max Metcalf.

As the Manager of Government and Community Relations for BMW Manufacturing in Spartanburg, Mr. Metcalf shared exciting updates on the plant’s recent internal expansions and the opening of their new electric vehicle battery facility in Woodruff.

Crucially for our area, he highlighted growing career opportunities for skilled technicians and supply chain coordinators. Mr. Metcalf emphasized BMW’s commitment to fostering deep partnerships with local technical colleges and four-year universities to sustain and expand this vital talent pipeline.

Because a significant number of the plant’s workforce commutes from the Tri-County region, these developments directly impact our local economy and workforce development. We look forward to seeing this partnership thrive!
