WHAT TRAINING COSTS WILL THE OJT PROGRAM PAY FOR?
The OJT Program will pay either 50% (for companies with more than 250 employees) or 75% (for companies with 1 to 250 employees) of a worker’s wages during a training period of up to 480 hours (12 weeks). The length of the training period varies according to the skill level required for the job.
Example
A contract for a machine operator that requires 480 hours of training and pays $15 per hour would result in a $5,400 reimbursement (of a total of $7,2000 in paid wages) for a small employer or a reimbursement of $3,6000 for a large employer.
On-the-Job Training (OJT) is available to defray the cost of training new employees. WorkLink will reimburse a company for 50 to 75 percent of the training wages for six to 10 weeks of training new hires who are eligible for WIOA services.
